| FC Midtjylland 0-1 CITY (2-4 on pens) |
Manchester City have reached the first round of the Uefa Cup after coming through a penalty shoot-out against FC Midtjylland this evening.
City, who lost the first leg 1-0 at home, were on the verge of going out as the match was heading for a 0-0 draw. But two minutes into stoppage time, the Premier League team were rescued thanks to a Danny Califf own goal.
It was left to City keeper Joe Hart to be the hero as he saved two penalties in the shoot as his team won 4-2.
FC Midtjylland were fortunate to come away with the win in Manchester, but they were much the better side this evening and should have won the tie in normal time. |

| Channon Seriously Injured |
Mick Channon will undergo surgery after being seriously injured in a crash in which a life-long friend died.
The Lambourn trainer, 59, and son Jack, 15, were both hurt when the vehicle in which they were travelling crashed on the M1 on Wednesday as they returned to their Berkshire home.
The ex-City and England star's friend, 63-year-old racing agent Tim Corby, of East Ilsley, Berks, died in the crash.
Channon and his youngest son were taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre for treatment. The trainer had a "tough old night" in intensive care after suffering broken ribs, a broken arm, a fractured jaw and a punctured lung, said son Michael Channon, 33. |

| CITY 3, West Ham 0 |
Manchester City picked up their first win of the new season with a dominating victory over 10-man West Ham.
Daniel Sturridge and Elano (two) scored for City who were on top for most of the game, but the the Blues lost Micah Richards to a nasty looking injury in the second half.
Mark Noble was red carded for two bookable offences in the first half, and the pressure finally told on West Ham after the break. Vincent Kompany made an assured debut and slotted in at centre back after Richards went off.
The Blues were a different side from their last home game and hopefully that is a sign that Hughes has finally got his players playing the way he wants. |

| Bianchi Signs For Torino. |
Manchester City have sold striker Rolando Bianchi to Italian club Torino.
Ex-City boss Sven Goran Eriksson splashed out £8.8 million on Bianchi last year. But the 25-year-old scored just four goals in the Premier League.
Bianchi, who was loaned out to Lazio in January, had complained about life in England.
The forward said he is determined to prove himself once again in Serie A after agreeing a five-year deal. |

| CITY v West Ham United |
WEST Ham United go to the City of Manchester Stadium looking for their first win against Manchester City since March 2006.
Since then, the Citizens have remained unbeaten in six matches against the Hammers.
That run includes four meetings last season in which the Irons scored just one goal – Carlton Cole's overhead kick in a 1-1 draw at Eastlands in January – and plunged out of the FA Cup at the third round stage at City's expense.
However, Alan Curbishley's side will be encouraged by their hosts' indifferent start to the new season. |

| Shak Us The Money!!! |
Manchester City have been reported to FIFA by Shakhtar Donetsk, who claim they are still owed money from the transfer of Brazilian playmaker Elano to Eastlands last summer.
FIFA confirmed last night that they are investigating a claim by the Ukrainian champions that City owe them £475,000 (600,000 euros).
The money is a 'solidarity payment' on European transfers. It usually equates to five per cent of the total sum - in this case £9.5m - and is distributed between clubs that played a part in the youth development of the player. Donetsk claim City have withheld the money and the case will now be heard by FIFA. |

| Richards Scores For U-21's |
Micah Richards gave a timely reminder to Fabio Capello of his desire to regain his place in the full England side.
The Manchester City defender, overlooked by Capello, scored and gave a commanding display from right back, the position in which Wes Brown and Glen Johnson seem to have overtaken him in the senior side.
Richards scored a 25th minute equaliser after England had fallen behind to an goal from Etien Velikonja on 12 minutes.
The Slovenia forward latched onto a fine through ball from Nejc Pecnik and slipped a first time shot past Joe Lewis. |

| Dunne Ready To Go! (And I Don't Mean Away From City!!) |
Richard Dunne aims to be ready to go straight back into City’s starting eleven when his current two-match suspension ends.
The skipper has been forced to miss the first two games of the Barclays Premier League season following his red card in the final game of last season, but he’s not using that as an excuse as he declares that he will be ready to enter the fray again.
“It’s frustrating to miss these first two games because of what happened at Middlesbrough,” says Dunne. “The team has got to get back to top form for when I’m back and when Jo comes back from the Olympics as well.
